For spinal disc and back pain, many traditional medicine methods have long been used for patients.
Most of these include topical herbal compounds with animal or vegetable fats. The use of licorice root and the fat of sheep or camels hump has been very common.
Other items included manual therapies, massages, and reduction and ballooning. Other items such as leech treatment and cupping can also be added to this list. The rate of response to treatment in traditional medicine methods is very variable and sometimes it may increase the pain and worsen the patient’s condition. It should be noted that back pain has many different causes and the key to the success of treatment is the correct initial diagnosis.

A muscle spasm or cramp can be easily treated by massaging or inflating the area with local warming by topical compounds.
Cases such as joint problems around the spine were sometimes reduced with manual treatments and manipulation of the area. Some of these therapies, which have been proven to be effective, have also been introduced and used in classical medicine. Some plants that have medicinal properties are prescribed by doctors in this field today.

Cases such as ruptured discs and special cases such as brucellosis or inflammatory problems in the spine are less likely to respond, and advanced treatments are more helpful.
